The next morning we headed out to go see the Reichsdag. Mostly because Coutney's top 3 interests are 1) the internal workings of the German political process, 2) extensive renovations of old historic government buildings with impressive glass additions ... and ... if you're curious about #3 you can stay tuned to the final attraction on our Berlin trip.

After the trip up we went off to go and see a more modern face of Berlin, which is also the site of Berlin's 2nd doomsday device. Of course I'm talking about the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz.
The architecture is cool, but beyond that I don't get the point. There's a film museum I guess here, so if you're into that sort of thing maybe it has some appeal. It just feels like a mall to me though.
After Potsdamer Platz we headed towards the zoo (Courtney's 3rd favorite interest). Before we went there we stopped at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, which still bears the scars from the bombing raids in WWII.

We then stepped into the modern additions. The walls have been decorated with the blue stained glass.
After the brief stopover to the church we headed to the zoo, which Courtney was really excited about from her animal behavior classes. Here's her in front of one of the pandas:

We then went to see a monkey eating poop! Yes, that's poop. And yes, he tried more than one of the pellets.
Our day ended with a visit to see Knut, the world famous polar bear who not so long ago was a cute baby.
Courtney was really pumped to see Knut!
After the zoo we headed back to the hotel, grabbed our stuff and headed to the airport bound for Stockholm!Post #3: Traveling around Stockholm!
