07/16:The next morning we headed off, away from the beautiful Lysefjord, and all its exhausting but breathtaking hikes. We were headed to pay homage to Norway's 4th largest city (!!!) Stavanger.
On the way we had to pass through more extra-terrestrial terrain.

The town was super cute. It seemed somehow like everything was miniaturized. Even the cathedral.

A bustling port city:
07/17:The next morning we woke up and hit a bus out to Bergen. The bus trip took something like 5 hours, but it was pretty and it let me devote some serious time to cell phone games. There we met up with Lisa's old economics pal, Johannes.

He took us for a tour of Bergen (Norway's 2nd largest city). Here's Bryggen, which is listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site because of it's old importance as a Hanseatic trading point.

I've never seen a UNESCO site buy itself some bling to get the point across.

After seeing the town and sampling some surprisingly delicious local beers (Sweden? WTF? Get with the program!) we whipped up some fish tacos and had a few drinks and called it a night. After all the hiking and traveling, we were pooped.
07/18:The next morning we decided we hadn't had enough hiking or enough rain. So we decided to walk up one of the 7 (I think) small mountains that Bergen is nestled between. Bad weather be damned! Johannes and Court-O.

Courtney, me, and our delicious apples.

We then hung out, listened to tunes, had some drinks and gossipped about what it was like to live with Lisa.
