11/28: Thanksgiving in Stockholm!

For whatever ridiculously crazy reason my employers did not give me any time off for Thanksgiving. I know ... what a bunch of savages. So with that in mind Henning and I decided to host a Thanksgiving dinner on the Saturday after dinner. I started with my preparations on Friday after work, preparing a pumpkin pie, another pumpkin themed dessert, a sweet potato caserole, as well as brining the turkey.

By the next afternoon the turkey was ready to go. Here's Sally Salmonella stuffed, herbed up, and ready to go.
Around 6ish Saturday the crew showed up. From left to right we have Henning, then Oskar, then me, then Libby, Pat, Janie, my boss Fritz, his girlfriend Sirpa, Johan, Erik, Charlotte and Pär.

Following our food we enjoyed some dessert wine courtesy of Pär.
We then celebrated in the way the pilgrims did ... by playing Wii:
After dessert the crew started to trickle out, but Erik and Johan decided to instead liven the party by putting on a show:

The show was going so well that I never looked at the clock, and in the end the crew didn't actually completely file out until 5 in the morning.

The evening was a little bitter sweet however because the following Monday was Erik's last day in Stockholm, however it was a good time to spend with him as well as the rest of the crew that joined us.

Ultimately it turned out to be a lot of work, but it was a great time, the food was great and the company was a blast. Those three ingredients are all that could have been called for for a stellar Thanksgiving!
