We awoke, "refreshed" although slightly hungover for a big day of sightseeing. The plan was to go see Castle Neuschweinstein. As we were getting ready Kathleen asked me: "What do you think the temperature is? On a scale of 10? This caused me to pause as I actually pondered how best to answer the question. It was then when Courtney piped in that there were several perfectly acceptable scales to measure temperature, and perhaps we should go with one that's already in place. We all of course had a laugh at Kathleen's expense, but after a little research I did indeed come across the Kathleen King scale of temperature. It is based on the following:

Once we were adequately dressed we set forth. We elected to strike it out alone as opposed to going with a tour group which ultimately turned out to be a poor decision because a) I think it cost us more to go alone and b) We got on a train and didn't realize we were supposed to switch trains and ultimately ended up in the wrong town and lost 2 to 3 hours of valuable time. Finally however we arrived. Here's the lake around the castle.

At one point we made a pact that whomever made the best WWII related burn on the German people would get 2 euro from the rest of us. This proved to be a complete bust, which I think is a shame because Evan and I had so many good ones the year before. The only gag that was submitted in the contest started with Kathleen making a completely reasonable observation, but in typical Kathleen fashion she lowered her voice. It went as follows:
Kathleen: Has anybody else noticed that
there are a lot of Asians here?
Blake: "It must be that axis powers connection."
Did I say it was good? No, but it was all we had. By the way, I should have 6 euro coming my way.
With that out of the way, here's the four of us in front of the castle that was obscured by both romantic fog and romantic scaffolding.

BFF's!

Castle Neuschweinstein makes Courtney want to dance.
Dance. Dance!
We went on the tour, which was amazing (even the second time) and ultimately made it back to Munich. This trip had less drama although we still ultimately didn't get back to the Oktoberfest grounds until 11 p.m.

Unfortunately we found that the fairgrounds close at 11 (WTF?), so we had the unique experience of walking around the grounds at close while completely sober.

Here's Courtney, not being a gossip ...

The night was a bit of a bust. We had thought about going and trying to find a pub. The Haufbrauhaus is a famous beer hall, but they closed at 11 as well. So we decided to just grab a couple beers at the hostel and hang out and watch tv. TV in Germany after hours is certainly a site to see. We briefly watched a call in game show featuring a word jumble game where you had to find different car names. This was hosted by a topless girl. Eh, whatever floats your boat Germany. We also caught a show involving what appeared to be a tofu muppet. Judge for yourself what you think he is. This photo is courtesy of Jason.

My temperature scale is finally recognized! Thank you! But you forgot to include the conversions for Kelvin, Celsius, Fahrenheit, Rankine, Delisle, Newton, Réaumur, and Rømer.
